California State University Monterey Bay (CSUMB) and the Monterey Bay Ecotourism Region (MBETR) initiative announce the 2nd Monterey Bay Sustainable Hospitality Summit on January 11th, 2019 at the Portola Hotel and Spa in Monterey, CA.
The two-day Summit features a day of visits to view best practices in sustainable hospitality, ecotourism, eco-recreation and wellness at exemplary sites across the Tri-County region and a full day of inspiring and sharing best practices. Key invited speakers include Mato Frankovic, Mayor of Dubrovnik, Croatia; Martha Honey, Ph.D., Founder and Executive Director for the Center for Responsible Travel (CREST); Denise Naguib, Vice President, Sustainability & Supplier Diversity for Marriot International; and Congressman Jimmy Panetta.
January 10th ~ Pre-Summit site Tours: Participants have the opportunity to visit businesses and organizations that are sustainability leaders in the region to provide a first-hand look at the best practices already in action.
January 11th ~ Informative conference featuring key speakers at the Portola Hotel and Spa from 8:00 am - 7:00 pm. Buffet breakfast will be served prior to the event and lunch will be provided.
